BIOGRAPHY

Twenty year ago, Andreas Tilliander played an important part of the micro glitch and clicks & cuts movement with his releases for Mille Plateaux and Raster-Noton. Being a fond lover of vintage instruments, during the same period of digital minimalism Tilliander also explored the dub techno and ambient ways of music production resulting in a series of bass heavy and dirty 12” releases. This resulted in Tillianders most recent moniker TM404 and its first releases about ten years ago.

TM404 started as a studio only project focusing on slow hardware jams with no intention of being put on record or performed in front of an audience. However, in 2013 TM404 got invited to do its debut live performance at Berghain during the CTM Festival in Berlin. Since then, TM404 has been seen around the globe with his TB303’s, TR606’s and effect pedals. Sometimes it’s in huge techno clubs and other nights in tiny art galleries. Always with the live jamming in focus.

Oh, and Andreas Tilliander is from the same tiny town as Sebastian Mullaert ;)
